The following message was recently sent to me by another aupair site that a lot of you also use. It is good information especially for new users to internet aupair sites. I know a lot of you use both sites so you may have received this already. I have edited it a little out of respect for eAupair. I am listed as a "family" so this message is about aupairs but in your mind just replace "aupair" with "family" for this message to apply if you are an aupair. Please noe that the BLOCKED COUNTRIES mentioned in the email is from another site not this one but it applies here also as there are a lot of scams from these same countries on this site. Here it is:

To ensure you have a safe and rewarding experience, it is important to be aware of scams and to protect yourself against potential fraud and scam artists who may ask you to send money for a variety of reasons. You may be asked to send money for a visa, airfare, vaccinations, medical or other needs. Do not be fooled into sending money by wire transfer or other means to anyone you meet online even the most ideal-sounding candidate.

There are legitimate Au Pairs who may need help with travel expenses. If you elect to cover such expenses, you can either use your own reputable travel agency or agree to reimburse the travel costs once your Au Pair arrives.

If an Au Pair mentions that she is currently living or working in one of the blocked countries below, or says shes from a country thats not listed in her profile, please notify us immediately and discontinue your dialog with that candidate.

We currently block access to several countries known for rampant fraud and scam activities, including: Algeria, Botswana, Cameroon, Cote D'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Uganda & Zimbabwe and others as needed.

We have thousands of wonderful, legitimate Au Pairs and Nannies throughout the world. Unfortunately, there are a few unscrupulous people against whom we must guard ourselves. Validate everything. Be smart and be safe in your search.
